Showtime Schedule
World Broadcast Premiere

(Toronto – November 29, 2007) In an unprecedented move, History Television has announced that it will broadcast the docu-drama Iris Chang the Rape of Nanking, uncut and without commercials, on December 13 from 8:00 – 10:00 PM (ET/PT).  The feature documentary produced in HD by Toronto-based Real to Reel Productions will air on the very day that marks the 70th anniversary of the Nanking Massacre as well as the 10th anniversary of the publication of Iris Chang’s book, The Rape of Nanking: The Forgotten Holocaust of World War II.

Consumed by a desire for truth, the film follows author Iris Chang’s journey as she meticulously researches the 1937 massacre in Nanking–the forgotten holocaust of World War II.  She exposed in graphic detail the Nanking Massacre, during which almost 300,000 Chinese women, children and soldiers were, in a matter of weeks, systematically raped, tortured and murdered by the invading Japanese forces. The theme of the film is man’s inhumanity to man and our own personal responsibility to prevent such horrors.
